Cousteau produced more than 50 books and more than 120 television documentaries. His many works educated masses of people about the undersea, inspiring a love for the sea and influencing countless to protect it. His numerous inventions, including the famous Aqua-Lung, advanced underwater technologies. He also founded non-profit environmental protection groups. The Cousteau Society and its french counterpart, I’Equipe Cousteau is still active today with more than 50,000 members worldwide.
