Having to cater to the increasing total population, despite limited land space, Singapore has to rapidly urbanize to ensure majority of the population’s needs are met. This includes, housing and aesthetic landscapes, etc.

Thus, Singapore was driven to urbanize, to achieve greater efficiency and affluence.
