Globalization

There is abundant evidence that globalization became more rapid and intense during the 19th century. This was supported by the National Bureau of Economic research. As globalization around the world increases, most countries would be driven to boost their economy, and Singapore is not an exception.

As seen on the left, Singapore is
ranked 3rd in The Globalization Index in 2010.

This shows that Singapore is indeed a key participant in globalization.

Thus, urbanization would be key to improve on the development of the country. With Singapore’s small land size, we’ve to reconcile liveability, environmental sustainability, and economic competitiveness more than other cities.  Singapore had to rapidly urbanize to develop and be economically competitive among other countries.
