The Elephant Conservation Network (ECN)

ECN is a non-governmental organisation, that became independent in 1999 and they work with local people and national government agencies to help conserve elephants. ECN conducts elephant backgrounds in Thailand’s western forest area to find out what is understood by the public about elephants and their feelings about elephants.

ECN’s aim is to secure the future of Asian elephants and their long-term goal is to safeguard Thailand’s wild elephants. ECN aims at monitoring human-elephant conflicts in Thailand and seek an effective and sustainable solution. They have also built an effectual forest corridor between Salakpra-Tham Thanlod and Srinakarin protected areas to prevent isolating the elephants from the local communities (The Elephant Conservation Network, n.d.).
