In recent years, the concept of ecotourism has gained popularity as a more environmentally-friendly alternative to travel and explore the world. It appeals to both nature-enthusiast and regular tourist alike because of the novel and educational quality it adds to travelling. However, the term ecotourism is used so loosely that the people are generally unsure of what exactly it means to be an Eco tourist. Is ecotourism just another tourism industry gimmick to attract more customers or is there really merit to the term?

This blog hopes to shed some light on the topic of ecotourism and highlight some ecotourism efforts closer to home – in Southeast Asia.
