Bali may be the current ‘dream destination’ in Southeast Asia, however if things continue the way they are now, Bali may face a crisis from which they may not be able to turn back from. At the current rate at which they are going, the tourism industry (the very force that is destroying its environment) will eventually die down as tourists look for cleaner and less ‘destroyed’ destinations to spend their holidays. It is useful to keep in mind that tourists can run away from these very problems that they caused, however, locals will be left behind to ‘fix’ what they themselves helped in destroying.
Tourism is not the real enemy. Money is.
