Prof. May’s publication record is both deep and wide‑ranging. Her over-160 peer‑reviewed articles have garnered an h-index of 53 and over 11,000 citations (as of April 2025), and can be found in flagship journals such as Communication Research, New Media & Society and JMIR Public Health & Surveillance. She has authored numerous books and book chapters, some of which reach beyond the academic community to general audiences, including children.
