NTU Library is pleased to launch the Enhanced NTU Academic Profile on 1 Feb 2023.
Under the guidance of the Steering Committee, the profiles have been completely refreshed with a new attractive interface and powerful functionalities for tagging and searching research expertise.
Watch the video below to learn more about the features of the NTU Academic Profile.
An innovative approach to keep profiles updated easily is to leverage on the connectivity between ORCID, Digital Repository of NTU (DR-NTU) and NTU Academic Profile. In addition, we also pull relevant information from databases such as NTUitive patent database and RISE project grants to enrich the profiles. As a result, the NTU Academic Profile displays updated information and reduces the need for manual inputting by faculty.
We have also completed an extensive exercise to revise the research taxonomy with inputs from various schools, research centres and publications such as Pushing Frontiers and NTU Research 2025 report. It captures the range of expertise more comprehensively and greatly improves the discoverability of research expertise by Google, Bing and other search engines.
Since its beta launch in April 2022, the Enhanced NTU Academic Profile has recorded over 1 million page views.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank colleagues from the following departments for contributing to the Enhanced NTU Academic Profile project – CCO, CITS, NTUitive, OHR, RSO, TRACS and Administrators from NIE, LKCMedicine, RSIS and various Schools.
