Responsibilities:
• Identify, influence and shape local, regional and global trends in the development of libraries, specifically, but not limited, to the areas of:
• Cultivating Reading and Information Literacy
• Safeguarding Published and Unpublished Heritage
• Developing Self-Sustaining Learning Communities
• Providing Knowledge Services to Support Learning, Application and Research
• Knowledge Acquisition (capturing and building access to knowledge assets)
• New forms of libraries and library services
• Benchmark NLB’s performance against leading libraries and identify best industry and professional practices in the organization, access to and dissemination of content
• Examine emerging trends in relevant global standards and propose migration paths, policies and strategies for NLB
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders in testing of concepts within NLB or other libraries
• Active participation in Professional Communities (virtual/on-line)
Requirements:
• Bachelor Degree with 4 to 5 years of relevant experience
• Master of Science in Information Studies (MSc) preferred. Those without MSc should be experienced in either semantic web areas or knowledge management areas
• Preferably worked in multiple disciplines
• Adequate library experience to undertake research and monitor technology changes and the development of the Semantic Web, and social trends in learning
• Passionate, innovative and strategic in outlook
• Capable of working in unstructured environment
