(a) Lost of biological life in aquatic ecosystem is due to acid deposition. These affects the eastern canada as the environment is generally lacking of natural alkalinity and cannot neutralise acid naturally. More than half of Canada consist of susceptible hard rocks such as granite that cannot neutralise the effects of acid deposition.
(b) Originates from within the country.
