It suggests different instances of which the environment is damaged. Numerous environmentalists chipped in to give a say about these environmental issues from different viewpoints, namely deforestation, melting glaciers and so forth, leading to the pinnacle of this combination, global warming.
It is implied that most people realise how serious and urgent environmental problems are, but few act on them.
