The 11th Hour

Not only does The 11th Hour show the extreme situation of the environment in an interesting fashion, but also it also emphasises the sense of urgency without being forceful, which keeps the audience on attention. It suggests different instances of which the environment is damaged. Numerous environmentalists chipped in to give a say about these environmental issues from different viewpoints, namely deforestation, melting glaciers and so forth, leading to the pinnacle of this combination, global warming.

It is implied that most people realise how serious and urgent environmental problems are, but few act on them. It is ironic, since humans rely on the environment to live, but we are not saving it; we are destroying it. The environment can survive without humans, but we cannot survive without it. It is depressing to know that people care little about environmental causes that even after 10 years has passed, there has not been much changes in the environment.

This film has an impactful take-home message. What is it? I am not spoiling, so you can check it out here by yourselves! Hopefully, your views will change just like mine did after watching.

To end this section, Leonardo DiCaprio quoted,

Global warming is not only the number 1 environmental challenge we face today, but one of the most important issues facing all of humanity … We all have to do our part to raise awareness about global warming and the problems we as a people face in promoting a sustainable environmental future for our planet.
