About Us

The Power Electronics and Applications Research Laboratory (PEARL@NTU) is a research group at Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore under the School of Electrical and Electronics Engineering (EEE). The group works in strong collaboration with Interdisciplinary Graduate School (IGS), RR@NTU (Rolls-Royce NTU Corporate Lab), ERI@N (Energy Research Institute @ NTU). Key areas of research are the design and control of advanced power electronics converters for the application in future grid integration, standalone systems such as more electric aircraft, marine vessels, etc., renewable integration to the grid, STATCOM systems, protection systems for future DC and hybrid AC/DC schemes. PEARL@NTU has always encouraged and actively participated in collaboration with industries and top tier universities.

Dr. Ezequiel Rodriguez Ramos received the Research Excellence Award for his thesis titled "Fast and safe control of low-capacitance static compensators with enhanced inductive operation", from the school of EEE, NTU, Singapore.
