PhD Student (2018-Present)

 

Biography:

Gaowen Liang received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering and automation from the South China University of Technology, Guangzhou, China, in 2018. Currently, he is pursuing a Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. His research interest includes the grid-integration of energy storage systems with multilevel power converters, in particular, modular multilevel converters and cascaded H-bridge converters.

Biography:

Aditi Narang completed her Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering from Thapar University, India in 2017. She graduated with MSc. in Power Engineering from Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore in 2019 and is currently working towards her Ph.D. degree from NTU. Her research interests include power electronics, solar energy, interconnection of PV power plants with the grid, and energy storage. She is a student member of IEEE PES and an active member and volunteer in IEEE Women in Engineering (WiE) Singapore chapter.

Biography:

Qingxiang Liu (S’20) received the B.Sc. degree in electrical engineering from Wuhan University, Wuhan, China, in 2018, and the M.Sc. degree in power electronics from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, Singapore in 2019.

He is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree at the Energy Research Institute@NTU, Interdisciplinary Graduate Programme, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, Singapore. His research interests include modulation and control of power converters, multilevel converters, FACTS devices.

Biography:

He received the B.Eng. degree in electrical and electronic engineering from the Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2020, where he is currently pursuing towards his Ph.D. degree. His research interests include renewable energy systems, energy storage, and dc microgrid.

Biography:

Anusha Kumaresan received the B.E. degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Anna University, Chennai, India, in 2018, and the M.Tech. degree in power electronics from National Institute of Technology Puducherry, Karaikal, UT of Puducherry, India, in 2020. She is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree with the Energy Research Institute at NTU (ERI@N), Interdisciplinary Graduate Programme, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

From August 2019 to February 2020, she was a visiting student at Singapore University of Technology and Design, Singapore. Her research interests include power control strategy in photovoltaic systems, electrical machines, and drives.

Neha Beniwal

Biography:

Neha Beniwal (Student Member, IEEE) received the B.Tech. degree in electrical engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, India, in 2014, and the M.Tech. degree in power electronics, electrical machines, and drives from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, New Delhi, India, in 2017.

She is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree with the Energy Research Institute at NTU and the Interdisciplinary Graduate School, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Her research interests include multilevel converters, renewable energy, microgrid, power quality, electrical machines, and drives. Ms. Beniwal was the recipient of POSOCO Power System Awards (PPSA) awarded by Power System Operation Corporation Ltd. (POSOCO) in association with Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FIIT), Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, in 2018, and the Prof. A.K. Sinha Cash Prize and IEEE-PEDES’96 Award at the Annual Convocation of Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, in 2017.

Ezequiel Rodriguez Ramos

Biography:

Ezequiel Rodriguez(S’18) was born in Tarragona, Spain, in 1994. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a master’s degree in Engineering and Technology of Electronic Systems (with first class honours for both B.S. and M.S., topping the 2012 and 2016 graduating cohort as valedictorian) from Universitat Rovira i Virgili, Catalonia, Spain, in 2016 and 2017 respectively. He has just submitted his Ph.D. thesis to the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.

He is currently working as a post-doctoral research associate at the Energy Research Institute at NTU (ERI@N), Singapore. His research interests include modelling and the control of power electronic converters, with an emphasis on modular multilevel cascade converters for energy storage and FACTS applications.
