RESEARCH FELLOW

Biography:
Naga Brahmendra Yadav Gorla (Member, IEEE) received the B.Tech. degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Acharya Nagarjuna University, India, in 2010, the M.S. degree in electrical engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Chennai, India, in 2013, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the National University of Singapore, Singapore, in 2019.
He was with the Electrical and Electronics Department, Singapore Polytechnic, as a Research Engineer between October 2013 and December 2015. Since April 2019, he has been a Research Fellow with the Sembcorp-NUS Corporate Laboratory, National University of Singapore, Singapore. His research interests include power quality improvements in grid-connected inverters and rectifiers, fault detection and localization in multilevel and multiphase converters, and fault tolerance and resilience in grid-connected systems.

Biography:
Neha Beniwal (Student Member, IEEE) received the B.Tech. degree in electrical engineering from the National Institute of Technology, Kurukshetra, India, in 2014, and the M.Tech. degree in power electronics, electrical machines, and drives from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, New Delhi, India, in 2017.
She is currently working toward the Ph.D. degree with the Energy Research Institute at NTU and the Interdisciplinary Graduate School, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. Her research interests include multilevel converters, renewable energy, microgrid, power quality, electrical machines, and drives. Ms. Beniwal was the recipient of POSOCO Power System Awards (PPSA) awarded by Power System Operation Corporation Ltd. (POSOCO) in association with Foundation for Innovation and Technology Transfer (FIIT), Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, in 2018, and the Prof. A.K. Sinha Cash Prize and IEEE-PEDES’96 Award at the Annual Convocation of Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, in 2017.
Research Fellow (2021-Present)

Biography:
Ezequiel Rodriguez(S’18) was born in Tarragona, Spain, in 1994. He graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and a master’s degree in Engineering and Technology of Electronic Systems (with first class honours for both B.S. and M.S., topping the 2012 and 2016 graduating cohort as valedictorian) from Universitat Rovira i Virgili, Catalonia, Spain, in 2016 and 2017 respectively. He has just submitted his Ph.D. thesis to the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore.
He is currently working as a post-doctoral research associate at the Energy Research Institute at NTU (ERI@N), Singapore. His research interests include modelling and the control of power electronic converters, with an emphasis on modular multilevel cascade converters for energy storage and FACTS applications.

PRINCIPAL RESEARCH FELLOW

Biography:
Salvador Ceballos received the M.S. degree in physics from the University of Cantabria, Santander, Spain, in 2001, and the M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in electronic engineering from the University of the Basque Country, Bilbao, Spain, in 2002 and 2008, respectively.
Since 2002, he has been with Tecnalia Research and Innovation, where he is currently a Researcher with the Energy and Environment Division. From May 2008 to May 2009, he was a Visiting Researcher with the Hydraulic and Maritime Research Centre, University College Cork, Cork, Ireland. From November 2014 to May 2015, he was a Visiting Researcher with the Australian Energy Research Institute, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. He has authored more than 130 published technical papers. His research interests include multilevel converters, fault-tolerant power electronic topologies, and renewable energy systems.
RESEARCH FELLOW (2017-2020)

Biography:
Hossein Dehghani Tafti received the B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in electrical engineering and power system engineering from the Amirkabir University of Technology, Tehran, Iran, in 2009 and 2011, respectively, and the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Nanyang Technological University, Singapore, in 2018.
From January 2018 to April 2020, he was a Research Fellow with Nanyang Technological University, where he was working on the control of photovoltaic systems for grid support. From May 2020 to May 2021, he was a senior research associate with the University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia, where he worked on modelling and testing of commercial photovoltaic inverters. He is currently a research fellow at the Department of Electrical, Electronic and Computer Engineering, University of Western Australia, Perth, WA. He was the Co-Editor of the book titled Advanced Multilevel Converters and Applications in Grid Integration, published by John Wiley in 2018. His research interest includes the grid-integration of renewable energy sources, in particular, photovoltaics and energy storage and design and control of multilevel power converters.
