a) Position: Reference Librarian

Employer: Lien Ying Chow Library

Job Description:
To manage, develop and promote the use of library resources and information services. Knowledge of reference & information sources both print, CD-ROM and on the Internet will be an advantage. You will also be required to handle reference enquiries, conduct research skills sessions to promote information literacy, develop course contents and e-learning courseware for access through the Internet.

b) Position: Acquisitions Librarian

Employer: Lien Ying Chow Library

Job description:
To develop the Library’s resource collection in print, media and electronic format. This includes liaising with academic staff for collection development and providing guidance in the use of acquisitions and collection development tools.

Requirements for both a) and b) are as follows:
• A good Degree preferably in Science, Business, Engineering, Computer Science
• A recognised professional qualification in Library and Information Science will be an advantage
• Minimum 2 years experience in performing similar operations
• Good communication skills both oral and written
• Strong customer service orientation
• Team leading ability with good interpersonal skills.

Successful candidate will be required to participate in shift duties during term to provide reference services.
