The concerns of acid rain vary across the globe. Many countries in North america and Europe have websites dealing with acid rain. Long term input of acid rain to lakes causes a decline in calcium levels.This event threatens the entire food web as low pH level possibly correlates with reproduction problems and disappearance of fishes, and indirect effects on the quality and quantity of food for other species.  Acid deposition originated within the borders of Canada and 1.7 million tonnes of SO2 were released into the environment in year 2008. Therefore, it can be concluded that acid deposition occurs within it’s own borders.
