Founded in 2021, Pawfoo aims to alleviate Singapore’s food waste problem by rescuing surplus, ugly and off-specification local ingredients for their pet treats. These treats are all-natural, affordable, nutritious, and was developed through consultations with vets and the team’s background in food science.

Dog and cat owners are always looking for the best treats for their pets. However, these treats are usually made up of ingredients and chemicals that one may not understand or know of, making it difficult for pet owners to make informed decisions about their furry friends’ treats. At the same time, pet treats are getting more expensive, making it challenging to find affordable, convenient, and high-quality options.

According to food waste management statistics released by the National Environment Agency (NEA), 539 million kilograms of food was wasted in Singapore in 2020 alone, and this is equivalent to a whopping 148,000 bags of food being thrown away per day!

With every bag of pet treats purchased from Pawfoo, pet owners are taking active steps to mitigate climate change and rescue food from our landfills.

Pawfoo was the IRVINS Category winner of The Hungry Games, an inaugural food manufacturing student case competition organised by StartupX and Enterprise Singapore.
