Meanwhile, below is a short interview piece with Tong Pei!
What first got you interested in the ADM internship programme?
The best part about ADM internship is the amount of AUs you can clear during your holidays. By clearing that 6AUs, it would make your 4th year more relaxing and be able to concentrate on your FYP.
What was the most memorable experience that took place during your internship?
The most memorable experience was the food tasting session for media staff at The White Rabbit bar and restaurant which is owned by Lo and Behold Group, the company I was interning at. My whole team was invited to experience the full menu selection. The dinner started with Burrata de Artigiana, Rangers Valley Wagyu Carpaccio and Foie Gras Duet just to name a few. Followed by 8 main dishes which included a 60-hour Braised Magalica Pork Belly and Sautéed Japanese Sea Bream accompanied by sides such as truffles Mac and Cheese and Grilled Asparagus with Truffle Hollandiase sauce. The epic meal was finished off with a Chocolate Fondant, White Chocolate Mille-Feuille and Crêpes Suzette.
What was the coolest/weirdest/craziest thing that happened while on the job?
Our brainstorming sessions would take place at Loof bar sometimes which is located on the lower level of the office building we worked at. We would discuss ideas over beer and whisky. Another cool thing was seeing my idea come to life. The pop-up 3D photobooth I had designed debuted at the full moon beach party organised by Tanjong Beach Club.
What would you say is the biggest takeaway from the internship programme?
I had no prior marketing experiences before but was attached to the marketing team during internship. I gained so much knowledge not only on how to design, but also to market designed products for the consumer market!
