Built environment is defined as the aspects of nature being incorporated into buildings and developments in the urban cities. Singapore being known as a “City in a Garden has implemented several measure to bring greenery into the thriving cities in a truly natural setting. Measures range from building parks in the neighbourhood areas to incorporating natural elements into homes, schools and workplaces such that people are constantly in touch with nature. However, these man-made environments can only provide a smaller diversity of species.
