The Classics of Medicine Collection features special editions of classic medical books, published by Gryphon Editions under their “The Classics of Medicine” library. Topics covered in this collection are not limited to medicine, but also other topics. These books are not just reprints, usually of the first or most notable edition, but also replicas of the original books that are out-of-print from their original publishers. If the original had been published in a different language, the text is translated into English.

Each book in this collection is leather-bound and is gold-stamped in its original design, with raised bands on its spine. The pages are acid-free with gilded edges. Some titles come with special booklets which are kept separately from the books.

Titles in this collection include The Interpretation of Dreams by Sigmund Freud, The Collected Essays of Sir William Osler, Medical Ethics by Thomas Percival and On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection by Charles Darwin.
