Cultjobs
Started in 2007 as Culturepush and relaunched in 2017, Cultjobs is a Singapore-based, dedicated job search portal for creatives.
Pros:
- Good amount of relevant jobs for ADM students.
- Able to narrow down job category by specific creative categories, job type (commitment level), and company.
- Most jobs are detailed in requirements and responsibilities, some with salary range included as well. No unpaid internships allowed to be posted.
- Free email alerts for job seekers.
Cons:
- Not as many search filters as other job search sites.
Indeed
Indeed is one of the top job sites globally, with over 250 million unique visitors every month, 150m resumes and reviews and counting.
Pros:
- Fair amount of creative jobs.
- Able to filter jobs by job type, specific areas in Singapore, a wide range of big companies and titles.
- Most job listings state responsibilities and requirements in detail, as well as salary range.
- Able to view others’ reviews of companies they have previously worked for.
- Able to search and compare salaries across your industry and against other companies.
Cons:
- May not be as well-known yet in Singapore as mainly US-based previously.
Linkedin is a well-known networking site, active since 2002, that is increasing in popularity for younger job seekers in Singapore to find jobs tailored to their resume.
Pros:
- Popular directory of profiles, thus popular for employers to list jobs on.
- Besides typical features of job type, location, industry and title etc., Linkedin provides a bonus feature of being able to see jobs within your network, as well as jobs with less applicants.
- Able to match your listed skills to find more relevant jobs.
- Able to see employees under specific companies and their statistics.
Cons:
- Website may be a little complicated to navigate as it has many functions.
Jobs on Facebook
Facebook is one of the world’s most popular social networking sites. In 2017, they launched a jobs feature on their site, and it is growing in popularity rapidly.
Pros:
- Popular for job posting, especially with smaller businesses, due to ease of linking to their Facebook Business page. Good for searching startup internships.
- Only able to sort by location, job type and category, salary range not disclosed.
- Ease of applying with your Facebook profile.
Cons:
- Risks of non-employer-friendly content being seen by prospective employers on your social media profile.
- Not many filters, not favored by many large companies as a job site yet.
Glints
Glints is a Singapore based, Southeast-Asia focused job site. They are youth-focused and the #1 recruitment platform in Asia.
Pros:
- Good amount of creative jobs.
- Able to filter jobs by job type, location, career/skills, salary and experience required.
- Most job listings state responsibilities and requirements in detail, as well as salary range.
- Detailed job and company descriptions.
- Able to view all jobs available in a specific company.
Cons:
- Not the best site if you are searching for jobs outside Asia – very few listings.
NTU CareerAxis
NTU Career & Attachment Office job search directory for employers seeking to hire NTU students.
Pros:
- Able to filter via job type, locations, hours, industry and occupation.
Most postings are detailed about the responsibilities, requirements, remuneration etc. - Bonus feature: event listings such as employment roadshows, career talks etc. for you to find out more in person.
- Able to book appointments through the portal to seek career guidance with staff from the NTU Career & Attachment Office.
Cons:
- Website slightly complicated to navigate.
- Not many job opportunities outside of Asia.
Glassdoor
Glassdoor, similar to Indeed, is one of the top job sites globally, with over 67 million unique visitors every month, 12m job listings and counting. Was launched in Singapore in Jan 2019.
Pros:
- Able to filter jobs by job type, distance away, locations, companies, titles and industry etc.
- Most job listings state responsibilities and requirements in detail, as well as salary range.
- Able to view others’ ratings and reviews of specific companies they have previously worked for, in areas such as benefits, culture, career opportunities, work/life balance etc.
- Able to search and compare salaries across your industry and against other companies, but less comprehensive than Indeed.
Cons:
- Not as popular in Singapore yet due to recent launch.
Internsg
Internsg is a dedicated website for internships in Singapore which has been active since 2014.
Pros:
- Good amount of creative jobs.
- Able to filter by profession, industry, and other keywords as required.
- Postings are clear and detailed about the responsibilities, requirements, remuneration etc.
Cons:
- Not the site for you if you are searching for permanent, full-time, part-time or freelance positions.
ADM Internship Opportunities
Check out the informal Internship Opportunities page on this blog, which is regularly updated with companies seeking ADM student interns throughout the year for various freelance and internship opportunities. While some of these listings may have been posted a while ago and overdue, they are companies that were once interested in engaging ADM students. It could be worth writing in to them to see if they may be interested in engaging interns again. The listings are also a good reference to get a sense of what companies are looking for in an intern.
