I’m FINished with FINS
In the year 2012, I’m FINished with FINS campaign was launched as the third generation of the shark fin soup campaign. Similar earlier campaigns which started in 2009 were launched in China and Hong Kong urging people to stop consuming shark fin soup, providing reasons for doing so, to educate them on the dangers to sharks due to shark fin trade and to dispel misinformation on the benefits of shark fin trade that is being disseminated.

I’m FINished with FINS was first launched in Singapore by getting local celebrities and community leaders to declare that they are “FINished with FINS”. Other than gathering the support of local celebrities and community leaders, it also gathers corporations to pledge that they are ‘FINished with FINS by never to serve, consume, promote or reimburse shark fin soup. This campaign also urge corporate leaders to stop serving shark fin soup at events, with Michael Ma being the first to pledge that his company, Indochine, will not serve shark fin soup. Billboards featuring one of the 58 local celebrities who have made their declaration as well as facts about shark fin trade were then placed in 80 locations throughout Singapore, encouraging the public to be “FINished with FINS”. In the year 2013, this campaign was brought into Taiwan and Hong Kong with the support of LUSH, a cosmetic boutique, to bring awareness to the issue and to educate the public on shark fin soup. Later in the year 2013, this campaign was also launched in Mainland China with the same objectives in place.
