2. ERRONEOUS SCIENTIFIC CLAIMS
Gore was criticized for his allegedly erroneous scientific statements in his documentary called An Inconvenient Truth. It was deemed by a British judge to have nine significant errors, which was challenged in court. Nonetheless, he ruled that the film can still be used as an educational tool in the UK but with guidance notes for teachers to balance out the film’s one-sided political views. The court broadly concluded that “many of the claims made by the film were fully backed up by the weight of science.”
“Well, the ruling was in my favour. There have been a number of deniers trying to say that this isn’t real. Of course there are always going to be that, but the overwhelming majority of the scientists who’ve looked at this have said, “We’ve got to confront this.”
