In many of Gore’s speeches, he always mentioned how the climate crisis is not just a political issue, but also a moral issue. Being a man of faith himself, he believes that the fight against global warming is one of humanity’s great moral movements, alongside the abolition of slavery, the defeat of apartheid, votes for women and gay rights. He believes that environmental stewardship is the answer to addressing the issue of climate change.

“The climate movement should be seen in the context of the great moral causes that have transformed and improved the outlook for humanity.”

Interfaith Climate Reality Project

Just earlier this year, his nonprofit organization, the Climate Reality Project and the New York-based Center for Earth Ethics, which is run by his daughter Karenna, joins together to train faith leaders about the environment. At the three-day interfaith conference, faith leaders from across the county came to hear what Gore has to say at the Methodist Theological School. He even used Bible verses relating to environmental stewardship throughout his presentations. The goal of his presentations remains the same, which is “to help catalyze a solution to the climate crisis”.

Aside from Christian-based training programs, Gore also claimed that he has various faith-based training programs too such as Muslim, Jewish and Hindu training programs. To appeal to those who believe there is a moral or religious duty to protect the planet, he has been adapting his fact-based message – now put out by hundreds of volunteers.
