The Climate Reality Project is a non-profit organization and a consolidation of two environmental organizations – the Alliance for Climate Protection and the Climate Project, which were both founded in 2006 by Gore. The two organizations joint into one in 2010 and was only renamed as the Climate Reality Project in 2011. Gore serves as the chairman of the organization and has trained thousands of committed activists to discuss the reality of the climate crisis and its solutions.

Climate Reality Leadership Corps

One of the many initiatives is called Climate Reality Leadership Corps. It is a global network of activists committed to spreading awareness of the climate crisis and working for solutions through leadership trainings hosted by Gore, along with experts in science and communications. Apart from gaining knowledge about climate science, Climate Reality Leaders develop the communications and organizing tools they need to inspire action in their schools, neighborhoods and workplaces. As of now,  20,967 climate reality leaders from 154 countries have been trained.

24 Hours of Reality

The Climate Reality Project hosts 24 Hours of Reality annually. In the past years, it has been a 24-hour live broadcast about the climate crisis and its solutions with a one-hour segment in every time zone. Previous broadcasts have explored different sides of both the crisis and the movement for solutions. For this year’s 24 Hours of Reality: Truth in Action, it marks an exciting evolution in The Climate Reality Project’s 24 Hours of Reality program as this year’s theme will take the action from the screen to communities around the world. Climate Reality Leaders will collectively lead a global conversation about climate action directly to their friends, family, and neighbors. Over the course of 24 hours, Gore will be joined by more than 20,000 Climate Reality Leaders to give updated versions of the slideshow made famous by An Inconvenient Truth
