|Research Topic: Development of an Advanced Mooring Line Model for Coupled Floater Motion Analysis
Research Summary: The motions of floating offshore structures are heavily influenced by their mooring systems, particularly in deep waters. Some difficulties and uncertainties encountered in mooring line modelling include seabed interactions, choice of hydrodynamic coefficients for load calculations, and nonlinear effects which limit the applicability of efficient calculation procedures. This project aims to make a contribution towards resolving some of these problems.
